- About sociocracy, written for Mr Victor Titus, Yzerfontein, 26 january 2000
- During a discussion at Nelson's Creek winefarm, where a proyect was running to transfer property to the black (until than unskilled) farmworkers, I had to explain the concept of sociocracy believing that it could support their search for a more participating management construct. I wrote this note from my memory. Later I heard that they were actively studying more detailed documentation they had found since. I keep this note -and will complete & verify it- for the occacion that I need again to explain the concept.
- Analysis of empowerment projects, a courtesy feedback, Yzerfontein, 8 february 2000
- After having participated in two one-day excursions to empowerment proyects by an 'alternative' starting-up organisation where I happened to be the only participant, I promised a written feedback about my frame of reference in relation to (starting) enterprises and to write down my evaluation of the proyects they had shown me. Their niche in the tourist guide business "cross cultural tours". It was to show the 'other' South-Africa, where they, themselves coloured/black, had an excellent network of relations unknown to the 'classic' tourist industry. The 'other' South-Africa included in their eyes also the grassroots struggling of the poor (coloured/black) people to find freedom, income and self respect when the economic/finacial success is not as spectacular as the acclaimed successes of some new black top businessmen or of the 'black yuppies', looked at with some suspicion. Being themselves young entrepreneurs, they understood my analysis inmediately. I hope that it supports their new business.
